About the event

Greetings from the New York Croquet Club, and thank you for your interest in learning how to play competitive croquet!

We will start by reviewing croquet basics: stance, grip, and technique. Next we will learn how to perform a "Rush" and a "Take Off," and we will learn the rules and basic strategy of American Rules Croquet, which was invented in Central Park! Finally, we will play a round of American Rules 6-Wicket Croquet!

The croquet lawn is located just north of Sheep's Meadow and directly west of Le Pain Quotidien in Central Park. If you search for "New York Croquet Club" in Google Maps the exact location of the lawn will be clear.

Classes may be canceled due to an expectation of temperature greater than 90F or precipitation greater than 40%.

You are allowed 2 free Monday Evening clinics, any combination of Golf Croquet or American rules. For more in-depth clinics and regular, organized play and socials feel free to apply for full croquet club membership.

We look forward to meeting you on the lawn!
